Welcome Sue Hiltner, Director of Early Childhood

Please join us in welcoming Sue Hiltner as the next Director of Early Childhood.   

Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools sought applications for the Director of Early Childhood beginning April 10, 2025.  There were numerous applicants for the position, and after thorough screening, the field was narrowed to four (4) candidates chosen for interviews. The candidates were interviewed on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The interview group consisted of representatives from the Board of Education, district administration, and staff from both the Hillside and Rice Early Childhood Centers. At the conclusion of the interviews, input was gathered from the group and a recommendation was made. 

May 19 at the regularly scheduled Board meeting, the Board unanimously approved Sue Hiltner to be the next Director of Early Childhood for Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools. Sue’s official start date as the Director of Early Childhood will be July 1, 2025.

Hiltner currently serves as the  Early Education Programs Coordinator for Becker Public Schools and brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for early childhood education to her new role. Sue has worn many hats in her career: kindergarten teacher, school readiness preschool teacher, early childhood family education child and parent educator, preschool director and for the past 15 years the Early Education Programs Coordinator for Becker Public Schools.

Sue is committed to building strong foundations for children and families and is excited to bring her knowledge, leadership, and energy to the Sauk Rapids-Rice community.
